Michaels scrapbooking demo

Hi everyone! I just got done doing the demo that will be going on tomorrow from 1pm-3pm. It is so cute!

The whole card was done using the "Just Because" Cards cartridge. Yea, the card gas a learning curve but now that I have the hang of it, it should be smooth sailing from here on out. So here is a pic of the Cricut Expression that I am using.

Please excuse the mess in the picture. Like I said, I just got done making the card. When I do projects, supplies sometimes tend to go "flying" ;). I guess it's just a sign that I'm having fun crafting. After all, isn't that what it's all about? I'll let you know how all the scrapbooking demos go tomorrow. It should be tons of fun!!! Until next time...

The Cricut is AWESOME!

Yes, I want to shout it from the roof tops! Okay, and yes I'm behind the curve. I finally got to try out a Cricut Expression and boy is it awesome. When the Cricut first came out I was a bit of a skeptic. I didn't think that I would have any use for it. My manager at work let me bring home the Cricut to practice on since I want to become a scrapbooking instructor. I read the manual and watched some YouTube videos then dove right in. I cut some boxes.

Then a couple of scallop matted circles.

Then I got really ambitious! I tried to make a flower. Not just a 2 dimensional flower, but a 3-D one. What started out as this:

Turned out to be this!

I was blown away at how easy it was to make the flower. To think that it was made with one machine.
So here is the nitty gritty on the flower. The paper is from a My Minds Eye Home 4.5"x6.5" pad of photo mats. The Cricut cartridge used was the Accent Essentials. I used the flower shape at 2", 1 3/4", and 1 1/2" in 3 different prints. I cut a total of 9 flowers, crinkled them up, and arranged them on a brad. I think I'll put a pin backing on it and wear it to work. Oooh, I am so excited to make more projects with the Cricut. Now I just have to get one of my own. Maybe Christmas;). Until next time....funky crafting to you!

These look like jelly beans

To continue the beanie theme that I have going on right now, I made a couple for my two littlest girls. I haven't created for them in a while so I thought it would be a nice. Now I'm gonna work on duplicates so I can post them on Etsy. Here is the one I made for Reagan.

Of course Reagan doesn't mind playing model either;)

Small correction

I have a correction to make to a web address that I posted earlier today. The correct address is www.flylady.net. I have been trying to follow her daily but sometimes it gets hard with all that goes on in our lives. I love to read what she has to say, it's so inspirational. If you get a chance, please visit her. You might just become a fellow flybaby.

So crafty lately

I've been in such a dry spell with all of my crafting for a while. I had some inspiration from some girlfriends who came over to scrap with me. We had so much fun hanging out and scrapping that it left me inspired. I scrapped three 12x12 layouts after they left! I was so impressed with myself. Since that day, I did two 8 1/2 x 11 digital layouts and have crocheted 5 beanies. Wowza!!! I'm gonna post most of the beanies on Etsy but some of them are going to my DH(dear husband). **a little shout out to the FlyLady on Flylady.com**.
So here are some pics of those beanies and look for them soon on Etsy at the thefunkycrafter.etsy.com. I look forward to hearing from you. Until next time, happy crafting!
